Accessibility audits and fixes for Shopify

Open your store to every shopper.

Blind, low-vision and keyboard-only shoppers hit walls on most Shopify stores. We find those walls, fix them in your theme code, and have a screen-reader user test the result.

Most stores turn some shoppers away without knowing it.

Around one in four US adults lives with a disability, according to the CDC. Many shop with a screen reader, which reads the page aloud, or with a keyboard instead of a mouse. On a typical store, they run into problems like these.

  1. Silent product photos

No description, so a screen reader just says “image”.

  2. Mouse-only buttons

Size pickers, bundles and menus that a keyboard can’t reach.

  3. Faint text

Light grey prices and labels that low-vision shoppers can’t read.

  4. Unlabeled fields

Search and sign-up boxes announced only as “edit text”.

On one small candle shop we checked, keyboard and screen-reader shoppers couldn’t select the “Most popular” two-candle deal. The store’s best-selling offer was invisible to them.

A widget can’t fix your code. A report alone doesn’t either.

Overlay widget Audit-only report Open Aisle Studio
Fixes your store’s code No. Adds a toolbar on top No. You fix it yourself Yes, in your theme

In 2025 the US Federal Trade Commission fined one overlay company $1 million over claims that its tool made websites compliant.

Four steps, one point of contact.

  1. Check

We scan your store, then go through it by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader: home page, collections, product pages, cart, search and the start of checkout.

You: send us your store link.

  2. Fix

We fix the problems directly in your theme code, on a copy of your theme. Your live store isn’t touched until you approve.

You: add us as a staff account.

  3. Test

A person who uses a screen reader every day shops your store from start to finish. We fix whatever still gets in their way.

    You: nothing.

  4. Hand over

You get a plain-English report of what we found and fixed, anything we couldn’t fix, and an accessibility statement page.

    You: approve and publish.

One fixed price. No subscription required.

What we won’t promise.

No one can honestly promise that a store is “lawsuit-proof” or “100% compliant”, so we don’t.

What we do promise is the work: a careful check, real code fixes, a test by a real screen-reader user, and an honest report that includes anything we couldn’t fix. We are not lawyers, and nothing on this site is legal advice.

Questions store owners ask.

Do I need to install an app?

No. We change your theme’s code. No app, widget or script is added to your store.

What access do you need?

A Shopify staff account with permission to edit themes. You can remove it the day we finish.

Will my store look different?

Mostly no. A few fixes can be visible, such as a clearer outline around the selected button or slightly darker grey text. We show you those before they go live.

What about apps from other companies?

Some apps can’t be edited from your theme. We test them, list any problems in your report, and tell you what to ask the app maker or which alternatives work better.

Can you fix Shopify’s checkout?

Shopify runs its own checkout pages, so no one outside Shopify can change their code. We test them and report anything we find, and fix everything on your side of the store.

Which standard do you use?

WCAG 2.2 Level AA. It includes everything in WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the version that US regulations and most accessibility settlements refer to.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of your store and your theme. After the free check, we give you a delivery date before you pay anything.

Who will I work with?

Sathwik, the founder, is your one point of contact from the free check to the final report.
